1. Call To Order:

  • The meeting was called to order at 10:05.

2. Approval of the Agenda.

  • The motion to approve the agenda was seconded and carried.

3. Adoption Of The Minutes Of The Meeting Held On June 15, 2011:

  • The motion to adopt the minutes was seconded and carried.

4. Business Arising From The Minutes.

  • None was brought forward.

5. New Business.

  • None brought forward.

6. Reports.

a. Correspondence.

  • There was no correspondence.

b. Treasurer

  • Bob said we should consider other financial institutions for our funds and mentioned GIC bonds. After discussing the different suggestions for some time, it was agreed that Bob would look into the issue and obtain detailed information for the next meeting.
  • The Treasurer's report is available.

c. Membership, Recruitment, Recognition and Support

  • Alan reported that the present membership 169. Those members who did not pay their 2011 subscriptions are removed from our records.

d. Liaison with COSCO

  • In Clarence’s absence there was no report.

e. Fellowship and Travel

  • Details of the Pitmar Washington Christmas lights tour will be sent out to members.

The motion to accept the reports was seconded and carried.

8. Other Business:

  1. Christmas Luncheon
    • Chris will contact Cheers Restaurant in North Vancouver and attempt to get the lunch arranged for Sunday 4th December. The general feeling is that we would not go for a separate room as our best attendance seems to be when we meet downstairs.
  2. Meeting Rooms
    • Ted will go over to BCIT administration and book meeting rooms for next year including our AGM.
  3. Driving Tests
    • c) Peter talked about seniors driving tests, and suggested that those who are due for tests should get a copy of The Highway Code because many of the driving requirements have changed significantly over recent years.

9. Next Meeting:

  • The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at 10:00 at the Royal Oak Facility, Rm SE 4-40.
